South Africa & South America: Building Your Aftermarket Product Mix
Product Features
-
Build a profitable aftermarket product mix for South Africa and South America with ZESTECH universal Android head units, vehicle-specific frames, CANbus kits, and OEM/ODM support.
Product Introduction
At ZESTECH, we treat these two regions as one sourcing strategy built from three layers: a universal Android head unit platform that covers the broad base, vehicle-specific frame + CANbus kits that reduce installation drama, and a factory-backed OEM/ODM program that lets you brand the whole bundle. The sections below walk through a real product mix you can quote today, using fitment data from our South Africa and South America quotation lists.

Fig. 1 — ZESTECH’s three core product lines cover CarPlay/Android AI boxes, vehicle-specific Android multimedia, and intelligent cockpit systems for distributors and installers.
Two Markets, One Smart Mix
South Africa’s best-sellers are not random. The local fitment list shows heavy demand for Toyota Hilux, Fortuner, and Land Cruiser, plus Hyundai ix35/Tucson, Haval H6/H2, Ford Ranger, VW Polo, and a long tail of BMW, Mercedes, and Suzuki models. Many of these are right-hand-drive, and many need dedicated frames plus CANbus modules to keep steering-wheel controls, reverse cameras, and factory amplifiers working.
South America moves a different but equally concentrated set. The fitment quotation for the region is dominated by Ford Kuga/Ecosport, Honda Fit/CRV/City/Civic, Toyota Corolla/Hilux/RAV4/Yaris, VW Polo/Golf/Sagitar, Hyundai Creta/Tucson/Santa Fe, Chevrolet Cruze/Trax/Captiva, plus Mitsubishi, Kia, Nissan, Jeep, Peugeot, and Citroën. Most are left-hand-drive, but the technical requirement is identical: the frame must fit the dash and the CANbus must talk to the car.
That is why the same sourcing playbook works for both regions. Lead with a universal platform for fast-turn stock, add model-specific frames with confirmed CANbus for the top 30–40 vehicles, and reserve a premium large-screen line for customers who want flagship appeal.
The Universal Head Unit: Your Volume Engine
The ZESTECH universal head unit line built on the UIS8581 platform is the workhorse of this mix. It is the same platform referenced across our South Africa universal radio quotation: Android 12, octa-core Spreadtrum UIS8581 with eight Cortex-A55 cores at 1.6 GHz, and memory options of 4 GB / 8 GB RAM plus 64 GB / 128 GB ROM. Screen sizes run from 6.2“ and 7” up to 9“ and 10” IPS displays at 1280 × 720.

Fig. 2 — ZT-A69 UIS8581 series: Android 12, octa-core A55, 4G/8G + 64G/128G memory, and full CarPlay/Android Auto support.
What makes it a regional winner is the feature stack. The South Africa quotation specifies wired and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, AM/FM radio with the 4745 chip, DSP sound effects, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G SIM + 5G Wi-Fi, and built-in 360-camera support. The UIS8581 spec sheet adds GPS navigation, AHD camera input, two USB ports, 4 × 25 W amplification, and an operating range of —20 °C to +80 °C. That combination covers the daily-driver segment in both markets without forcing every installer to stock a different motherboard for every model.
For South America, the same platform appears alongside entry-level T3L and higher-tier UIS7862 options, so you can build a good-better-best shelf without changing suppliers.
Vehicle-Specific Frames and CANbus: Why “Fits” Is Not Enough
A head unit that physically fits the dash but cannot read the car’s CAN messages will disappoint the end customer. Steering-wheel buttons stop working, reverse guidelines disappear, and factory amplifiers can mute completely. That is why the frame-and-CANbus layer is where distributors make or lose reputation.
Our South Africa popular-frames list covers 39 vehicle applications, including dedicated kits for Toyota Hilux, Fortuner, Land Cruiser 70, Hyundai ix35/Tucson/H1, Haval H6/H2, VW Polo/Golf, Ford Ranger/Focus, BMW E39/E90/E87, Mercedes ML/W203/W204, Renault Duster, Suzuki Swift/Vitara/Ertiga, Nissan Qashqai, and more. Roughly half of these carry a matched CANbus module, while the rest use direct-wire harnesses for simpler electrical systems.

Fig. 3 — Built-in CAN gateway, steering-wheel control support, and AHD/360 camera inputs turn a physical fit into a fully integrated upgrade.
South America is even deeper: the quotation list includes over 80 frame-and-cable kits for Ford, Honda, Toyota, VW, Hyundai, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Kia, Nissan, Jeep, Peugeot, Citroën, Chery, ISUZU, Fiat, and SsangYong. Crucially, every entry is tagged Yes or No for CANbus, so you know before you order whether the kit preserves factory steering controls, reverse signals, and amplifier triggers. That is the data your installers need before they touch the first screw.

This is not a theoretical catalog. These are the exact model codes we quote against, so your purchasing team can match the frame kit to the vehicles already on your shelf.
The Premium Tier: Large Screen and Qualcomm Power
Not every customer wants the cheapest Android screen. Some markets — especially the upper end of South America and the fleet/contractor segment in South Africa — will pay more for a 12.3" large-screen head unit with flagship processing and a factory-finished look. The ZT-A78 Qualcomm 6125 Teslaseries is the premium anchor of the mix: Android 12, quad-core A73 plus quad-core A53, 4 GB/8 GB RAM, 64 GB/128 GB/256 GB ROM, TDA7851 amplification, Bluetooth 5.0, —30 °C to +85 °C rating, and support for CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB, DSP, TPMS, DVR, and HDMI.

Adding one or two premium SKUs to your container lets you upsell installers and protects your margin when the entry-level segment gets price-sensitive.
Certification and Quality That Clears Customs
Both regions are strict on documentation. South Africa’s NRCS alignment and South American customs checkpoints will ask for CE, FCC, E-Mark, RoHS, and sometimes CCC or NTRA depending on the shipment route. ZESTECH products carry the full set, and our facility operates under IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 automotive quality systems. That means the same production lines that supply certified kits for Brazil and Iran are available for your South Africa and South America orders.
Why ZESTECH Can Build This Mix at Scale
A regional product mix only works if the supplier can actually produce it consistently. ZESTECH is Shenzhen Zest Technology Co., Ltd., founded in 2013, with a 50,000 m² production base, 7 production lines, and an annual capacity of 3 million sets. The Shenzhen headquarters houses more than 200 staff including over 50 R&D engineers, and the company holds 125 authorized patents and 160 software copyrights.

Fig. 6 — Culture built around quality, integration, and long-term partnership, matching the consistency distributors need across multiple markets.
Whether you need a 200-piece trial mix of universal units and frame kits, or a full OEM/ODM container with your own boot logo, gift box, and branded packaging, the factory infrastructure and R&D team can support it under one roof.
