Why Iran Plays by Its Own Rules
The Iranian car park is unlike any other export market. Two local manufacturers, IKCO and SAIPA, build enormous volumes of Samand, Dena, Soren, Runna, Pride, Tiba and Saina for the domestic market. Alongside them, generations of French models — Peugeot 405, 206 and 207, Renault Logan (L90), Sandero and Megane 2 — were assembled or imported over decades and still dominate the streets. Korean models such as the Hyundai Sonata, Elantra, Tucson and Santa Fe hold a loyal base, and Chinese brands including JAC, Changan and Great Wall have been gaining ground year after year.
At the same time, factory infotainment in this market ages fast. Navigation maps are rarely updated, factory screens are small, and connected services that are standard elsewhere simply never arrived. For a large share of Iranian car owners, the aftermarket head unit is the only realistic path to a modern cabin: a big touchscreen, GPS navigation, smartphone mirroring, Bluetooth and internet connectivity.
The result is a market with strong volume, competent installation shops in every city, and buyers who compare carefully. In practice, the sale is decided by one question: does it fit my car like it was factory-fitted? A universal unit with sloppy gaps or a harness that kills the steering-wheel controls will be returned. Exact fitment is not a detail here — it is the product.
“Universal” Means a Universal Head Unit Plus a Car-Specific Kit
In this market, “universal multimedia” never means one box that fits everything out of the package. The professionals break the product into three parts:
- ✓The head unit — the universal part. The electronics, the Android system, the screen, the connectivity: identical across dozens of applications.
- ✓The frame — the car-specific part. A 9-inch or 10.1-inch fascia matched to the dashboard of one model family, so the screen sits flush like original equipment.
- ✓The cable and CANbus kit — the invisible part that decides everything. The power harness plus, where the car needs it, a CANbus decoder that keeps steering-wheel controls, parking sensors, amplifier and dash information alive after installation.
This is exactly how ZESTECH structures its program for the region: a universal Android head unit line, plus a dedicated frame-and-cable list for the models Iranians actually drive, with CANbus versions where the vehicle requires protocol integration.

The Models Your Iranian Customers Actually Drive
Below is the core of ZESTECH’s frame-and-cable program for the Iranian market, drawn from our own fitment list for the region’s most popular vehicles.
The list keeps growing with market demand, and kit contents are matched to each model’s wiring generation — automatic vs. manual versions included where the difference matters. Send us your model list and we will return the current frame-and-cable coverage together with the matching head unit configurations and quotation.
What the Head Unit Side Must Deliver
A perfect frame cannot save a weak head unit. For the Iranian market, our distributors consistently specify:
- ✓A car-grade octa-core Android platform — the flagship ZT-A86 runs Android 13 on the UIS7870 octa-core (1×A76 @ 2.7GHz + 3×A76 @ 2.3GHz + 4×A55 @ 2.0GHz), with 8/12/16GB RAM and storage from 128GB up to 1TB.
- ✓A 2K-class IPS capacitive touch screen in 9“ and 10.1” — the screen sizes Iranian installers ask for by name.
- ✓Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto built in — the feature that sells the upgrade to every iPhone and Android owner in the car.
- ✓4G LTE with SIM slot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 with apt-X — connectivity that factory systems in this market never had.
- ✓High-fidelity DSP and DTS audio — a visible step up from the factory radio on every test drive.
- ✓A CANbus decoder matched to the model — steering-wheel controls, parking sensors and vehicle information stay fully functional.
- ✓A car-grade temperature rating of −30 °C to +85 °C — required for real summers and real winters, not laboratory conditions.
- ✓ADAS and camera support — front DVR, reversing video and 360° AVM readiness for fleet and safety-minded buyers.

Tier the Line-Up for Different Budgets
One head unit does not serve every buyer. ZESTECH builds the line-up in three tiers so distributors can cover the whole price pyramid with one supplier. The ZT-A86 is the flagship: Android 13, UIS7870, up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The ZT-A67 is the mainstream workhorse on the UIS7862S octa-core platform (up to 2.2GHz, Android 12, 4/8GB RAM + 64/128GB storage, TDA7851 amplifier chip). For buyers who want a statement screen, the ZT-A78 series brings a 12.3-inch display on a Qualcomm platform with a quad A73 2.0GHz + quad A53 1.8GHz configuration.
